SugarCRM’s Clint Oram Named to CRN’s Elite List of 50 Influential Channel Chiefs

CTO and Co-Founder Stands Out for Establishing Global Partnerships, Achieving Exceptional Growth and Driving Innovation in Channel Program

CUPERTINO, Calif. – February 12, 2015 – SugarCRM Inc., the company that enables businesses to create extraordinary customer relationships with the most innovative and affordable CRM solution in the market, announced today that SugarCRM CTO and co-founder Clint Oram has been named to the prestigious list of the 2015 CRN Channel Chiefs and selected as one of the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs, a distinguished subset of the 2015 CRN Channel Chiefs.

The executives on the annual CRN Channel Chiefs list represent the most powerful leaders in the IT channel who hold direct responsibility for driving growth and revenue for their organizations through their indirect channel partners. Individuals are selected for inclusion based on their track record of channel accomplishments, standing in the industry, dedication to the partner community, and plans for driving future business innovation and channel growth.

The 2015 CRN Channel Chiefs have demonstrated their enduring support for the channel by consistently defending, promoting and executing effective channel partner programs and strategies.

A strong advocate for all SugarCRM partners, Oram assumed responsibility for technology alliances in 2012 and expanded that role in 2013 to include the OEM program. By 2014, Oram had taken executive leadership of all channel programs, including VAR, ISV, OEM and SI programs. In this expanded role he has established partnerships for SugarCRM with leading global systems integrators. A majority of SugarCRM’s revenue comes through channel partners.

Oram was instrumental in driving innovation in SugarCRM’s channel program in 2014 by focusing on three key areas. First, he instituted a merit- and goal-based channel program (as opposed to a pay-to-play program) in which partners could achieve program tiers and market recognition based on revenue attainment and training certifications. Second, he focused on defining and rolling out an OEM program, hiring an OEM team and establishing quotas and goals. Third, Oram rolled out the program’s first partner scorecards, published on a quarterly basis, these scorecards keep partners apprised of revenue attainment and certifications met.

“CRN editors carefully vet an extensive group of highly accomplished channel executives to identify the 50 individuals who merit the title “Channel Chief,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. “The executives chosen as the 2015 CRN Channel Chiefs lead by example and serve as valuable advocates to help ensure the health and longevity of the IT channel. We applaud their accomplishments and look forward to their continued success.”

“Our channel partners are vital to SugarCRM’s success, so growth and innovation in our channel program is crucial,” said Larry Augustin, CEO, SugarCRM. “Clint’s leadership has driven significant gains in the size and sophistication of our channel, making it one of the premier programs in the industry. We are honored that CRN has recognized his achievements in this way.”
