Putting “Work Like You Live” to the test in Sorrento, Italy

I just returned from what I can only describe as a truly remarkable SugarCRM Sales Kickoff in Sorrento, Italy. I have helped plan and present at no less than ten (yes, TEN) sales kick off events at SugarCRM, but this year’s event was different in a lot of ways.

For one, we brought even more Sugar business partners than ever before, both from the delivery and technology side. We are all equally invested in our customers’ success, and it makes sense to kick off the year on the same page. It was great to see partners and Sugar sellers interacting, and brainstorming about how to build even better solutions for the next generation of CRM requirements and user expectations.

While most sales events are giant, self-congratulatory “boondogles” (to use our own executive vice president of global sales Juan Herrera’s word) – this year we wanted to really drive home the point of “The Future You” and the future of work. In reality, all aspects of your life are now tied together, and can be interweaved at the discretion of the individual. It’s a phenomenon that we call “work like you live”. It is important to SugarCRM that we not only build solutions that align with the way individuals currently want to do their jobs, but we want all our employees to be early adopters to the “work like you live” concept.

So, when you see sales reps, marketers, business partners able to be productive with customers while also learning, networking and taking in the amazing scenery of the Amalfi coast – it shows that at SugarCRM, we walk it like we talk it. We had 300 individuals working, living, connecting, and driving home great customer experiences all while halfway around the world. (If not further!)

In all, it was an invigorating couple of days. It is simply great to see so many people aligned with one simple vision: building and delivering the most modern CRM solutions that will make our customers’ professional and personal lives a little better every day.

But I will say, it’s pretty easy to work like you live when this is your view every morning:
