SugarCRM Continues to Rapidly Grow with Increasing Global Market Traction in Q1 2013

Records 14 quarters of consecutive growth

CUPERTINO, Calif. – May 14, 2013 – SugarCRM, the company that makes every user a customer expert, today announced that it has achieved 14 consecutive quarters of growth, with an increase of more than 30 percent in annual recurring revenue year-over-year in the first quarter of 2013.

SugarCRM Q1 2013 Business Highlights

New Customers Worldwide. SugarCRM continued to rapidly grow its customer base in Q1 2013. New global customers include Wilson Sporting Goods Co., Orametrix, Inc., and the San Jose SaberCats in the United States; Sennheiser, IronFX, and CitySprint in Europe; Korea Information Certificate Authority, Inc. (JYK Inc.), and Uchida Spectrum Inc., in Asia-Pacific; Samsung Electronics ColombiaTrinn –Telecomunicações and Corporacion Maresa in Latin America.

New Product Release. The company unveiled Sugar 6.7 which includes a next generation mobile application and enhanced, superior sales pipeline management and forecasting capabilities.

  • The new SugarCRM Mobile application, powered by HTML5, offers a faster, easier way for sales users in the field to stay connected with their customers; track the latest updates on their campaigns, deals, and contacts; and update their CRM records, all in real time. The application delivers a completely integrated experience with Sugar’s browser application, and at the same time takes advantage of key native iOS capabilities. Users can upload photos, access contact directions and maps, and click-to-call, email, and text their contacts instantly. The interface is fully configurable and can be customized to meet the needs of each customer-facing professional.
  • Sales Pipeline Management and Forecasting is enhanced to provide value to sellers and sales managers alike and now includes a fully configurable forecast hierarchy, custom forecast tagging (forecast categories) and forecast ranges (best, worst, likely), built-in “what if” pipeline analysis capabilities, on the fly edit-and-save worksheets, and additional embedded analytics.

IBM Partnership. In Q1, SugarCRM focused on strengthening Sugar’s enterprise collaboration capabilities by releasing v2 of its Sugar Connector for IBM® Connections, a substantial upgrade with three times the functionality of the previous release. The company also previewed future functionality of the Connector at the IBM Connect event in January, demonstrating a new OpenSocial gadget that allows non-CRM users to have an embedded Sugar experience within IBM Connections. The gadget demonstration won first place at the IBM Connect App Dev Throwdown competition. The new Connector complements other integrations introduced in 2012, including an integration with IBM Campaign and IBM Interact for cross-channel marketing optimization. As a result of these integration efforts, SugarCRM has achieved multiple IBM certifications in Q1, including Ready for IBM SmartCloud Services, Ready for IBM DB2 database software and achieved validation of Sugar integrations within IBM's Retail Industry Framework. 

Enhanced Technology Partnership Program.  SugarCRM launched a number of enhancements to its Technology Partners Program.  The program incorporates a tiered marketing model with added joint marketing opportunities, as well as further investments in the technology partner certification program that gives customers and partners peace of mind that integrations will work smoothly in their given environment. There were five new certified integrations in Q1 including EchoSign, DocuSign, InsideView, Riva, and Intuit Quickbooks. These enhancements, along with a focused recruiting effort on select new partners, enable SugarCRM’s technology ecosystem to grow and continue to provide value to SugarCRM customers and partners.

Industry Recognition. SugarCRM received two awards in Q1 2013 for innovation and thought leadership, including a Gold Stevie® Award in the Relationship Management Solution – New Version category in the seventh annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. The company was also named to CRN’s 2013 Partner Program Guide and awarded a 5-Star Partner rating.
