Open Source Luminary to Address the State of the Industry for Future Leaders in Open Source

CUPERTINO, Calif.– March 27, 2012 – SugarCRM, the world’s fastest-growing customer relationship management (CRM) company, today announced its participation at Palmetto Open Source Software Conference (POSSCON) 2012, where CEO, Larry Augustin, will deliver a keynote address titled, “Open Source: Now and in the Future,” on Wednesday, March 28th, AT 9:15 a.m. EDT at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in South Carolina.

The keynote will cover personal reflections and advice from one of the most influential business leaders in open source. The session will include challenges and opportunities facing today’s open source community, and how it compares to previous years.

Prior to taking the helm at SugarCRM in 2009, Augustin was an angel investor and advisor to early-stage technology companies including JBoss, XenSource, DeviceVM, Fonality, Hyperic, Pentaho, and SpringSource. In addition, SugarCRM Community Manager, John Mertic, will lead a discussion on Thursday, March 29th, at 10:30 a.m. EDT on how to build a business application leveraging the SugarCRM platform. Along with instructional advice, Mertic will share how leveraging an open source platform eliminates the need to start writing code from scratch.
