Test Center review: Open source data aces
Enter Jitterbit and Talend, two fresh starts in a land of stodgy giants. Jitterbit is the classic case of less is more: a lighter-weight and extensible point solution that can shortcut simple migration projects by weeks. If you are in need of a quick fix for a one-off data migration project - to quickly move from Salesforce.com to SugarCRM, for example - Its simple, menu-driven interface takes a lot of the tedium out of profiling application data.

CRM Magazine: Mixing In a Little Sugar Sweetens the Deal
Since infusing SugarCRM into its business processes, Leishman says that handling times have plummeted from two or three minutes to as low as 20 seconds, despite adding another 17 cities in the last nine months. Callers are now recognized by their phone numbers or other identifiers, enabling their SugarCRM records to pop up on the agent screen as the call is answered. If it is a prospect, a new contact screen appears to the agent, mostly prepopulated thanks to integration with an external postal-information database. Agents can process customers quickly and move on and that is one benefit that cannot be quantified: freedom. Our people can work from home, which adds a lot of flexibility to the day, he adds.

Mobile CRM: Are We There Yet?
SugarCRM version, avoids the need for companies to download, deploy, and maintain separate mobile software applications on their users' handsets. They use the same URLs to access the core products; these applications detects that users are logging in from wireless devices and not a full screen computer and reacts accordingly. Mobile browsers have become so much more intelligent to present what is out there to the users, which led us to release XTHML client for web 2.0.

BusinessWeek: Cost-Conscious Companies Turn to Open-Source Software
The tightening of the purse strings is causing some companies to step up use of open-source software. Budgets are being cut, and some companies are looking at opportunities to use open source more in the enterprise, says Matt Aslett, an analyst at consulting firm 451 Group. While open source software is already widely used to help businesses run their servers and database management systems, it's gaining wider acceptance in such areas as collaboration, customer relationship management, and supply chain management.

PC World: SugarCRM Keeps You Closer to Your Customers
The flexibility of SugarCRM is particularly sweet. You can change the look of the app, making relatively small modifications (such as a font color) or giving it a major overhaul by selecting a theme that revamps both its appearance and navigation. You can decide which components, called dashlets, you wish to display. You can also change the names of assorted fields to customize them for your business.
