Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
Does such a product exist?
I am interested in a server-based synchronization utility. That is, I'd like for calendar syncing, contact syncing and activity syncing to be done on the server between MS Exchange and SugarCRM, that way the email client doesn't have to be up and opened.

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
It is a good idea, but i think server side exchange integration is not the easiest thing to do. Another thing is that some user intervention, for example if entering appointments in the Outlook calendar and somehow linking them to a SugarCRM record.

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
I would easily pay $1500 plus for this feature. Being able to sync SugarCRM with the email, calendar/schedule, and tasks would make this product AMAZING!
I know that it is possible...I just don't know how to do it. We have so many users that don't want to give up the synced schedule and email that the Exchange Server with windows mobile (treo 700wx) offer. This would allow me to have the best of both worlds.

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
Not a bad idea, i just think it will be quite difficult. This is especially true seeing as SugarCRM would be hiring a lot more PHP developers than Win32 app developers (familiar with Exchange API's). Maybe 3rd party plugin?
I have to say though the sync is the weakest function of the Outlook plugin by far. It is quite unreliable and the Sugar calendar is rubbish compared to Outlook. That is fine, but either implement or integrate it properly.

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
We would be willing to donate $$ to such a product if it worked reliably! Scott is right, the Outlook plugin is barely passable in its current state and calendaring in Sugar is very weak. This will be addressed in 5.5 or 6.0, but even when Sugar calendaring is improved, there will STILL be a need (IMO) for Server-Side syncing.

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
We are working on an integration project with one of our customers. They are also looking for server side synchronization between MS Exchange and SugarCRM. We will start to build a proof of concept soon.
If some of you are still interested in buying such a product, please contact me directly. We will pull out requirements from everybody interested and try to build a product which addresses all your needs.

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
Hey guys, I have just upgraded to Sugar 5 for a consultancy I do some work with, and I'd be quite interested in calendar integration. Also calendar aggregation! Does either Sugar or Exchange have a Google API we can aggregate through and view Exchange, Sugar and GCal all as an aggregate?
All the best,

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
I would be willing to chip in as well.
I have some good coders here on hand. has someone made the specs yet that they could provide, then I could get a quote as well.
Regards

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
Hi,
We've managed to implement an automated email integration system but it's quite specific. Any email coming in or out of the company is intercepted and imported into sugar if user and contact email addresses are matched. We use exchange but this is done at the gateway using linux servers and the exim mail transfer agent.
A server side sync tool would be the ideal for us too. We would be very interested - especially for email
Specifics for us would include automated importing into sugar when user/contact email addresses are matched - but only when one of each type is matched. That way we sync conversations between sales and customers and not personal emails and inter-staff chat. Also, a 'blacklist' of email address - so if any email is to/from/cc that address, then it is not synced.

Re: Exchange to SugarCRM Server-side Sync
Has anyone come up with something that works?
Looks like there is quite a bit of interest - too bad it is not from Sugar themselves...
