Default Filter by prospect custom fields

    Urgently needed:

Wonderful to see the campaign module. This I could use very often, but:

I have added custom fields to a prospect, that is important to me: prospect / technology area. So I want to import all my prospect addresses and afterwards select the prospects regarding different technology areas. But how I can filter them? It is not possible!

If I could use a filter with all fields of the prospect, I could create different prospect lists on the fly. That would be great!

    Eric

Yeah, creating prospect lists is currently a nightmare when the numbers go up. Right now I jam things into the title field so I can at least do some basic sorting. I would like to be able to run a query, see the results, and then check off the ones I want to add to the list en masse. And the paging should be at least 100 prospects per page, 20 is far too few.

Also, I would like to see on the prospect/lead details page (1) a button to add them to a campaign and (2) a list of campaigns they are in.

I think that this is a way to get people to move to Sugar Professional. In Pro there is a way to tie a custom report to a campaign.

    Hi,

Instead of categorizing prospects , dont you think creating a category for Prospect list is a much better approach?
You can create a PL with category as Technology and add prospects to it. This way your prospect can belong to multiple categories .

    Thanks

Well it's better, but it's still far too manual. Much, much better would be to create a segment by query as that's how you *do* segmentation. And please, subsegmenting that query by criteria and by sampling (1 in N or x% randomly) - how else are you going to do CHAID?

Oh, and while we're at it - in the 3.5.1OSS, you can't *remove* people from a prospect list *or* remove a prospect list from a campaign - you have to trash the *whole list* and start again. LART LART LART LART.

There is a remove('rem') icon on the Prospect subpanel which can be used to remove a prospect from the list. However , the remove Prospect List from the campaign feature is not in 351. We will fix this issue in the next releases.

    Sorry, yes, you're right.

But it's inconsistent with the behaviour of other lists which have the checkbox/batch operation way of doing things. Removing many prospects at once is just *tedious*.

Manoj - do you have the ability to create/populate a segment at run time from criteria in 4.0?

Also, is the "Number of emails sent per batch" admin option to prevent timeouts/failures midway through a dispatch run?

Ultimately, the way to go is probably multi-threaded... each contact can instantiate a communications plan (ie a process flow, including 'send communications' steps) which runs as a persistent independent thread. Don't know how possible this is with PHP, though.
