Hi sonicthoughts, what doesn't work? Does the link not appear in the generated email? Does it appear in the email but take you nowhere? Does it all appear to work but doesn't register the click in the campaign?
More specifics are needed in order for us to be of any help.

it is really strange - it works now! i didn't change anything, but now the link is expanding properly. could there be a difference between a test target and a default target?
so ... i'm happy! now if i could only get a downloadable report with campagin activity status by target ....

I have a similar issue. But I can not figure out what part of the link to put in the message. Do I put the link as is or do I use the long link generated by Sugar?
I've tried both an neither are working for me.
This is how I've done it.
Create a new link using the wizard. Then I will use some basic text "Click Here" and then use the origional link to the site http://www.mysite.com/contact/
That works but doesn't track the click through. Then I tried using the link provided by SugarCRM
http://revolvecrm.com/campaign_tracker.php?track=919d973a-e56f-7a6c-bc8c-45bf564073f0&identifier={MESSAGE_ID}
But it takes me to a blank page. I thought {MESSAGE_ID} would replace itself but it is not working. And I'm not sure what to do or what to put in the Message ID section.
On a side note, is there a way to get the Campaign ID without having to create a form for each one?
Thanks,
Seth
I have the tracking working successfully (apart from the bounced emails not being retrieved due to an error in the CRON.PHP.. listed elsewhere in the forum) .. my problem is the REMOVEME.PHP.. I am putting the OPT OUT check box and it shows me
URL for Campaign Message: https://mycompany.com.au/removeme.php?identifier={MESSAGE_ID} .. but in the email message that I get I only have <IMG HEIGHT=1 WIDTH=1 src=https://mycompany.com.au/image.php?identifier=13ae7efa-9adb-d32c-8a81-45c188f97fc0> which I assume is the magic that tracks when they open the email.. but nothing else ???
Any help most appreciated
I finally got this working.
I used the Campaign Wizard and followed the steps all the way through and when it asks you to choose a template you'll see the word "Edit" appear next the the drop down menu. If you click this you'll now find a few field in the template edit window that will allow you to choose from the Tracking URL list you created in the earlier steps!
You can insert them into the email at that time. You can also do this in the email template itself by simply using the WYSIWYG editor.
Select the text that you want to be used as your target URL. Then click the Link icon...world with a chain link on top of it. Where it says http:// choose "other" and then for your link type {Tracker Name}...don't actually type "Tracker Name" but the name of the Tracker URL you created. Mine is {roi} and then at run time it will put everything together for you.
Works like a charm.
Different question regarding the tracking URL - is there any way I could hide or change displayed address upon mouse roll over the link? I don't want the customer to see the site the link is sending him through, but just the target address - tryed to play with link advanced properties, but got only double link below the tracking one!
Hi Stalkers, not in baseline product but I'd encourage you to create a Feature Request for this in the Feature Request forum as this is a very good idea.

Multiple word trackers eg {Tracker Test} DOES NOT WORK!
Single World Trackers {trackertest} DOES WORK!
Eg.. when I view source, say my tracker name is "trackertest".. the code is..
CheersHTML Code:<a>href="{trackertest}">Click here to read</a>

My question is how do I make an Image tracker.. ??
I also noticed in my code of recieved emails the following..
This has nothing to do with my site, whats it doing in there? How did it get in there?
HTML Code:<img src="http://www.mailscanner.info/images/1x1spacer.gif" width="1" height="1" alt="Web Bug from http://mydomian.com/image.php?identifier=d7728525-082e-1a4e-d4ff-45fd099fede9" />
