Campaign problem: email addresses with single quote don't get sent

I have just finished my first campaign and it went reasonably well. The only problem is that I have several hundred emails in my target list that have a single quote character in them. Like "firstname_o'brien@company.com". These are all still in the queue and it doesn't look like they will ever be sent. I tried adding a \ character in front of the single quote in the email field but Sugar gives me an "invalid email address" warning. But it's not invalid - that really is the guy's email address.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a fix? We are using Sugar Open Source Version 4.2.0a.

That may be the email address the guy is publishing, but it's not a valid email address.
