How do I actually send an email that I create?

The email mechanism that is currently in the 1.0 product is for tracking email that comes from outside sources. It does not send email. Sending email is relatively straightforward if you are into PHP programming. I have done it before and could give you a pointer to some code that would work.

We are currently building an Outlook plugin for our commercial version that will allow for email messages to be automatically sent to Sugar and linked to contacts. This will help remove the manual step of copying mail into the system.

Longer term we should have email functionality in the main application.
