    Post general question - licensing

    Hi All,

Just had a general question. Under the terms of the user agreement is it possible to develop and extension and charge money for it?

    tks.

Without question you can do this. For example - see http://www.thelongreach.com for details on Info At Hand - Sugar Open Source extended with Documents, Projects, HR Management and a Corporate Directory that shows employee contact data, photos, and who is online.

Check out the licensing FAQ. http://www.sugarcrm.com/home/Public_License_FAQ/228/

    See item #5.

    5) Can I sell new SugarCRM modules I create?

That depends. If you write a new module that is not a derived work (see below), then you own that code and can do with it what you please. In other words, you can sell it and distribute it under any license you wish. The key is that you can’t sell a derived work of the original SugarCRM code or any other code covered by the SPL.
