    Exclamation Email's function

    Hi again,

what is the exact function of "Create Mail" in SugarCRM? How is it possible that I could use this function to send mail, coz i am too new to this application. I really required the answer regarding this matter asap. Thanks.

To put it short: You can't. You can create an Email to archive an Email by copy & paste.

There are two contributions, which might be of interest for yuo

    first.

PATCH: E-Mail sending w/ Templates from SugarCRM

Here you find a contribution to actually SEND Email out of sugar

    second:

    http://www.celinac.org/dev/popsicle/

This enables you to receive emails with sugar and to auto-archive them to the contacts automatically

Other than the Outlook plugin has there been any integration or thought of integration with additional POP3/IMAP clients.

Even simpler than that has anyone done integration with webmail such as horde or squirelmail? It would be really nice to have a more integrated email client that would use sugarcrm as its contact database and also allow direct archiving of meetings, emails, etc... with the right contact/account (similar to ACT and the ACT client even though that is pretty feature basic). I just hate to think that outlook is the only option especially since I've had bad experiences with outlook pluggins.

version 2.5.1 will have the ability to send emails directly from Sugar (using an external SMTP server). The 'beta' version of 2.5.1 is posted on sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sugarcrm/ if you would like to try it out (not for use in production!)

    Question Re: Email's function

I did installed 2.5.1beta and the email works with external SMTP server. One question I had is "Is there a way to setup the SMTP once by Admin for all users instead of ask each user change their own profile?". Thank you in advanced!

:: Yes Please add WEBMAIL to sugarCRM ::

We need to be able to recieve emails. Please start with POP accounts becuase it should be more simple. I really need this integrated as the outlook plug in does not track my Calandar activities and frankly it is a pain to have to manually link each email to a contact in the database. (This should be automatic.)
