    Question drop down lists

With this new version there is an option to create new dropdown lists, but I see no way to actually use them afterwards, maybe I'm missing something here but could someone point me out how to use a dropdown list (created by me) from the "Dropdown Editor" either on a default field (like lets say "title") or on a new one created by me

I'm also curious, I added a couple of additional activities, only to find that that drop down is not used anywhere. I gave up looking for it after about 10 minutes. Does anyone know where this dropdown actually is used? Also is there a way to create additional Short Cuts. I was hoping that I would be able to add shortcuts for activities.

    Help

I'll 'third' this question. I too have added values to the 'activity_dom' dropdown list but don't see where this shows up??

As far as adding or editing 'Shortcuts' you can do so by editing the /modules/'ModuleName'/Menu.php file where, in this case, the 'Module Name' is 'Activities'. However I'm not sure what you would/could add in this case as it appears that everything related to activities is currently available on the menu already.

To add a custom dropdown associated with a custom field, first add the dropdown using the "dropdown editor" in admin. Second add a custom field in "field layout" in appropriate file. This is done by clicking on "add field" in toolbox inside the left screen pane. Choose dropdown as field type and a select appears with all the available dropdown lists.

I manage to create drop down list but when I want to apply to the field layout, the listing in the drop down does not appear.

Any idea why? But when I view from the dropdown list it shows the listing.

    Please help. Thanks in advance.

    Exclamation Re: drop down lists

    Hello,

We played a lot with the fields layout and the columns layout and none of the "standard" tools in SugarCRM OS seemed to work properly. In fact none of them worked at all.
My guess is that this is not accomplished by developers at all or this is a commercial functionality only.
    Am I correct here?...

    Unhappy Re: drop down lists

    Hi,
A related question I've is that is there a way to load values of a dropdown menu from a table in db?

I'm interested in having the dropdown menu update every time a table in db is updated with new values. Please let me know if you know (I'm using v5.1).

    Thanks,
    Aniqa

My question is sort like the above: I just need a programmatic way to get Dropdown values out of the sugar system.

It seems odd to me that they're in includes/language/en_us.lang.php , but okay. I tried including this file in a script that needs access to the values, but it just returns Not A Valid Entry Point.

Where would I add/define a new valid entry point?
