Over the next week I will be introducing beta releases that will take the majority of the month to bring into a production release. I encourage everyone to take part of this venture and bring forth your ideas and contributions as this project grows.

Following the same basic rules, it's done as always...

I will be working on getting the Quotes & Contracts module cleaned-up however that may take the next week before time is allowed. With the beta release, I will provide several examples which you will be able to quickly import to your installed version.

There's some depreciated code from module builder, besides that... It's promising.

Not sure if I am missing something or my install didn't go correctly. When I create a quote there is nowhere to add line items. I simply get the header infomrnation.
Also, I would like to have the ability to free form add items. Many of our quoted items are not in product lists. Ideally, if an item is typed in and does not exist the system would suggest "near" part numbers, otherwise it would request the information about the item.

Also, multiple suppliers would be handy as many of our items can come from more than one source.

If it did this then it would be exactly what I am after.

Would be nice with contracts if we could tie this up with cases somehow. For example a client takes a maintenance contract out on us then we can log cases under it.

Ths seems like a great project. If you could, for the benefit of those of us using a hosted Sugar instance, it would be great if you could post a few screenshots either here or on Sugarforge.

As of right now... Quotes & Contracts are not 100% unlike the Products module. I have yet added the line items however in regards to multiple suppliers I understand your situation but, that will be something that can be added by the user for further customization. It's actually quite easy and I will provide plenty of examples to help anyway I can.

In regards to empty products, I'm thinking about allowing non-existing products to be quoted however adding them on the fly would be better suited within a subpanel.

Lastly, I do plan on adding the basic subpanels to Qutoes & Contracts (SubContracts) just like Products. Products is the most put together module out of this sutie, more a beta release but I didn't want to jump ahead yet.

I think this will meet your work-flow but, it will honestly be 2-3 weeks before it's ready for a production environment. I'm busy at work neck deep in new development plus spending time w/ the wife over the holiday.

No problem... I plan on getting everything put together shortly, just need to update the Quotes & Contracts module to get those beyond alpha plus provide all sorts of other goodies.

It's been a short time since I've been introduced to SugarCRM with a learning curve that is a bit different. It's a good product with excellent interfaces so, let's see what we can do...
