As the scope of communications has changed drastically over the years, so have customers and the expectations they have of companies they do business with. To help ensure businesses are meeting these standards, a three part Webinar series from TMC and SugarCRM focuses on preparing for this new kind of customer.
07/17Open Source`s New Frontier
Healthscreen Solutions, a Toronto medical records, billing and patient-scheduling software and services firm, began using SugarCRM in 2005 to track sales to its doctor clients, forecast future sales, and manage its operational and sales workflows. About 100 employees use the CRM application in some way each day. 'Without SugarCRM we could not have achieved a high level of growth,' says Martin Ross, Healthscreen vice president of technology. 'Our entire back office runs off it.' The reporting module and dashboards give the company critical business metrics that would be too onerous to collect manually.

07/11Enterprise apps for the iPhone
SugarCRM, the most popular open-source CRM product, now has a home on the iPhone, with a browser-based wireless client that enables users to view and edit records in all core modules of the company's Sales Force Automation solution, including Opportunity, Contact, and Account Management. Expect full search capabilities plus hyperlinked phone numbers and e-mail addresses for quick dialing and messaging. The mobile client comes standard on the new 5.1 version, so no separate installation is required.
07/10Software Has Come Full Circle
The journey of software from an original, open source/hardware movement to a closed-shop, licensed world and back to open source is now complete and for many businesses open source is a viable and more flexible alternative, the vice-president of a Silicon Valley open source firm told siliconrepublic.com.
