Sugar Professional Release Notes Version 5.5.3

Introduction

This document describes the requirements, new features, enhancements, and known limitations in Sugar Professional 5.5.3.

You can upgrade from Sugar versions from 5.5.0, 5.5.1, and 5.5.2 to Sugar 5.5.3. All Sugar 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 plug-ins and extensions are compatible with Sugar 5.5.3.

Note:

It is strongly recommended that you test 5.5.3 on a copy of your production system before upgrading it to 5.5.3.

Requirements

Requirements for 5.5.3 are as follows:

•	Increase the value of the memory_limit parameter in the php.ini file as follows:

•	MySQL Server: 40M or higher

•	MS SQL Server: 40M or higher

•	To install Sugar 5.5.3 successfully, ensure that the Multibyte String (mbstring) module is installed in your PHP libraries.

•	If you are using MySQL, install version 5.0 or higher to use with Sugar 5.5.3.

•	For Microsoft Exchange, Sugar supports only versions 2000 and higher.

•

In order to better support multi-byte character storage with Microsoft SQL Server, you can configure Sugar to use FreeTDS driver. See “Installation Prerequisites and Guidelines” in the Sugar Professional Installation and Administration Guide. Notes:

1.	Strict mode is supported for MYSQL.

2.	The PHP setting, MBstring.func_overload =7 is supported.

Known Limitations

The Microsoft SQL Server driver version 1.0, does not support UTF8. Therefore, use the FreeTDS Driver.

Change in Behavior

Prior to 5.5.3, a single username could be used to log into a Sugar system under multiple sessions simultaneously. As of 5.5.3, a single username can be used to log into a Sugar system only under one session. Any additional user sessions started using the same username will log out previous sessions.

Reports display relationships that have been removed.

When using Exchange with IMAP, the email deletion process does not work correctly.

When running a Summation With Details report on MS SQL, results are not grouped correctly.

List View performance is slow if you have a large database.

Regular users experience longer wait times when performing a non-filtered search for records.

When a lead clicks the opt-out link from an email campaign, a warning notice is displayed.

Sugar tracks invalid login attempts that were made prior to enabling the Login Lockout feature in Password Management.

Embedded images attached to an email campaign template do not display when recipients view the email.
