This document describes the requirements, new features, enhancements, and known limitations in Sugar Professional 5.5.3.You can upgrade from Sugar versions from 5.5.0, 5.5.1, and 5.5.2 to Sugar 5.5.3. All Sugar 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 plug-ins and extensions are compatible with Sugar 5.5.3.
Note: It is strongly recommended that you test 5.5.3 on a copy of your production system before upgrading it to 5.5.3.Please continue providing feedback on this release as we continue to develop Sugar functionality for the upcoming releases. We will continue to work to incorporate your feedback into the development process. • To install Sugar 5.5.3 successfully, ensure that the Multibyte String (mbstring) module is installed in your PHP libraries.
• In order to better support multi-byte character storage with Microsoft SQL Server, you can configure Sugar to use FreeTDS driver. See “Installation Prerequisites and Guidelines” in the Sugar Professional Installation and Administration Guide. • The Microsoft SQL Server driver version 1.0, does not support UTF8. Therefore, use the FreeTDS Driver.Prior to 5.5.3, a single username could be used to log into a Sugar system under multiple sessions simultaneously. As of 5.5.3, a single username can be used to log into a Sugar system only under one session. Any additional user sessions started using the same username will log out previous sessions.Sugar tracks invalid login attempts that were made prior to enabling the Login Lockout feature in Password Management.Embedded images attached to an email campaign template do not display when recipients view the email.Regular users are unable to view reports that they create if the currency symbol is one of the display columns.When the administrator sends a test email from the Email Settings page, the application does not use the “From” address specified in the email settings. Instead, it uses mail address specified in the Test email.
