Below are the various suggested roles and responsibilities of individuals within your organization. In many cases, certain individuals will take on multiple roles depending on the size of the deployment as well as their technical proficiency.
Executive Sponsor- The executive sponsor is in charge of making sure that enough resources are allocated to ensure a successful implementation and that the business goals of implementing Sugar are being adequately addressed. Executive sponsors usually hold a leadership position within the organization, possess an understanding of the various business benefits and challenges of implementing CRM, and have discretion in allocating resources to ensure an optimal deployment. We cannot overstate the importance of a selecting a dedicated and forceful Executive Sponsor in the success of your initiatives. As you’ll see later, particularly in the Acceleration phase, the Executive Sponsor’s leadership plays a key role in setting the foundation for success.
Adoption Manager- The Adoption Manager is responsible for developing various educational strategies and programs that optimizes end user adoption. Adoption managers should be proficient with Sugar, familiar with Sugar University offerings, and possess the ability to demonstrate and communicate Sugar’s usefulness in day to day operations. Many Sugar Acceleration Program elements are addressed by this individual.
Site Administrator- The Site Administrator is responsible for configuring and customizing their Sugar installation to best meet the specific needs of their group and organization. Sugar Administrators should be proficient with Sugar, familiar with Sugar Support offerings and policies, and knowledgeable enough to properly create and add permission levels, user teams, and roles that adhere to their organization’s internal structure.
IT Manager- The IT Manager is responsible for successfully installing Sugar onto the existing IT infrastructure and also in assisting Sugar users in downloading and installing various Sugar Plug-ins.
