Version 5.2
Chapter 1 Getting Started : Using Sugar Offline
You have the option of working offline or online as necessary. When working offline, your machine is not connected to the server. Hence, the date on your machine and on the server may differ. Hence, you will need to periodically synchronize the data on your computer with the data on the server.
The administrator must perform additional tasks on a one-time basis to allow users to use Sugar offline and synchronize data.
As an offline user, you can synchronize any changes made by you with changes that other users make. During synchronization, all of your changes are saved to the server and your local data is updated with changes that other users make. There could be conflicts because two users have changed the same record between synchronization sessions. In such cases, you can choose whether to overwrite the information on the client machine with the information on the server or overwrite information on the server with the information from the client. You can also choose to be prompted whenever there are conflicts so that you can make the decision on which records should be overwritten.
