Sugar Enterprise Release Notes
Version 5.2
New and Enhanced Features
Sugar offers two new access types for roles. These access types enable organizations to grant module-specific administration and developer privileges to their users while still maintaining the security and integrity of the system.
•
Developer: A user granted this access type has developer privileges for the specified module. This allows the user to access the development and administration tools, namely Studio, Workflow Management, and Dropdown Editor, that are required to customize the module.
•
Admin & Developer: A user granted this access type has both Administration and Developer privileges for the specified module. This allows the user to not only view and manage all records but also access administration and development tools available to manage the module.
The following roles are provided with Admin & Developer access type for specific modules:
•
Sales Administrator: This role has administration and developer privileges for Accounts, Contacts, Forecasts, Forecast schedule, Leads, Opportunities, and Quotes.
•
Marketing Administrator: This role has administration and developer privileges for Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Campaigns, Targets, and Target Lists.

Sugar provides connectors to LinkedIn, Jigsaw, and Hoover’s. Connectors enable users to view data or merge data from external data sources from within a Sugar record. Additional connectors to other data sources can be obtained and installed using Module Loader.
Developers in your organization can customize the Sugar code to change the order in which connectors are prioritized during data merge.
Sugar Feed enables users to be informed as soon as a team member creates a new contact, lead, opportunity, or case. Users can add a My Sugar Feed dashlet on their Home page so that when a team member performs any of these actions, a message displays in the dashlet on their Home page. Team members can also be notified when a lead is converted, when a case is closed, and when an opportunity is closed.
Additionally, users can post status updates, external links, images, and YouTube videos for team members to view within the dashlet.
Sugar provides a My Portal dashlet that presents product information and news about SugarCRM on your Home page. You can add additional My Portal dashlets to view information from external web sites and applications directly within your Sugar instance.
When you create or edit a drop-down list, you can now sort the items in ascending or descending order.
