Senior Software Engineer

SugarCRM Inc. (http://www.sugarcrm.com) is a fast growing commercial open source customer relationship management (CRM) software company based in Cupertino California. SugarCRM’s Sugar Suite adapts to any business environment by offering a more flexible and cost-effective alternative than proprietary applications. We have an immediate position for a senior software engineer in our web application development group. This position requires development experiences with web based application using PHP and relational database. We are looking for a strong contributor to join our team who will help with developing the core application framework and modules for the SugarCRM application. If you have deep web application development experience, want to build highly interactive business applications that tens of thousands of users download each month, have good UI design sense, and enjoy working with open source technology and community, please talk to us.

Responsibilities:

Five years of software development experience working in a fast paced software product company.
Strong background in JavaScript, DHTML, and CSS.
Experience in using AJAX to develop high performance rich user interfaces. Hands-on experience with libraries like Yahoo! UI Library (YUI) is a definite plus.
Knowledge of cross-browser (Firefox vs. Internet Explorer) issues such as JavaScript differences.
Experience in developing database centric applications with MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server.
Development experience with PHP is most desired, however experience with interactive web application will do as long as you are willing to learn and program in PHP.
Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced collaborative environment. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, flexibility, and commitment to deadline.
BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have, but not essential for the job:

Experience developing CRM applications.
Database performance tuning.
Test automation.
Experience working with China offshore development team.
