This Privacy Policy details certain policies implemented throughout SugarCRM, governing SugarCRM's use of personally identifiable information about users on www.sugarcrm.com web site and users of our On-Demand services (“Services”).

SugarCRM is a licensee of the TRUSTe Web Privacy Seal Program. TRUSTe is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to build user’s trust and confidence in the Internet by promoting the use of fair information practices. This privacy statement covers the site http://www.sugarcrm.com (the “Site”). Because this Site wants to demonstrate its commitment to your privacy, it has agreed to disclose its information practices and have its privacy practices reviewed for compliance by TRUSTe. The TRUSTe program covers only information that is collected through this Site, and does not cover information that may be collected through software downloaded from the Site or through our Services.

Privacy Policy Updates

Due to the Internet's rapidly evolving nature SugarCRM may need to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If SugarCRM has a material change to its privacy policy, SugarCRM will post a prominent notice on the site of the update and/or SugarCRM will send registered users an email notification so that the user is always aware of what personally identifiable information we may collect and how we may use this information. If any modification is unacceptable to the user, user shall cease using the Site and the Services. User’s continued access to the Site and Services will indicate user has accepted the change.

Information Collection and Use

Users can generally visit the Site without revealing any personally identifiable information. However, in certain sections of the Site, SugarCRM may, among other things, invite user to participate in surveys, register for an event, submit a resume, download a white paper, participate in a webcast, questionnaires or contests, contact SugarCRM with questions or comments or request information such as a newsletter, provide SugarCRM with feedback, participate in chat or message boards, or complete a profile or registration form. Due to the nature of these activities, SugarCRM may collect personally identifiable information such as: your name, contact data such as your address, email address, phone number, username, password, language choice, time zone, employment title and company information, credit card information or other payment information, credit history information, tax identification number and reseller identification number; and other information that you voluntarily transmit with your communication to us.

Additionally, SugarCRM may collect personally identifiable information about users that users provide to SugarCRM when users contact SugarCRM or that users voluntarily post in blogs, chat rooms, forums, message boards available from the Site and other users will be able to see any information that users post to such forums and SugarCRM is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums. SugarCRM also may collect the foregoing personally identifiable information about users from our third party affiliates or partner companies and from marketing or advertising companies that provide SugarCRM with such information as a part of their relationship with SugarCRM. SugarCRM also may collect information about users, the data users upload to the Services and general use of the Site and Services through direct use of the Site and Services.

SugarCRM may utilize user’s personally identifiable information to register user to use the Services and/or certain sections of the Site, contact user to deliver certain products, services or information such as a newsletter user has requested, verify users’ authority to enter the Site, verify users’ authority to use the Services, improve the content and general administration of the Site and the Services, provide user with notices regarding goods or services that user has purchased or may wish to purchase in the future, facilitate user ratings and consistent user identity, internal business analysis, and for targeted advertising.

SugarCRM posts customer testimonials on the Site which may contain personally identifiable information such as the customer's name. SugarCRM obtains customer's consent, before posting the testimonial and any personally identifiable information included therein.

Children's Privacy

SugarCRM recognizes the privacy interests of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's online activities and interests. This Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. SugarCRM does not target its Services or Site to children under 13. SugarCRM does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

Cookies

As part of our approach to providing personalized services on the Site, SugarCRM uses cookies to store and sometimes track information about you. A cookie is a small data file sent to your browser from a web server to be stored on your hard drive that allows easier access the next time the same page is visited. For example, a cookie is sent when you register or sign in to this site. The use of cookies provides benefits to you, such as eliminating the need for you to enter your password frequently during a session, or where applicable re-enter items you place in a shopping cart from visit to visit if you do not finish a transaction on an earlier visit. For these purposes, our cookies are tied to personally identifiable information.

Aggregate Information

The Site may track the total number of visitors to the Site, the number of visitors to each page of the Site, browser type, IP addresses, External Web Site(s) (defined below) linked to, and SugarCRM may analyze this data for trends and statistics in the aggregate, but such information will be maintained, used and disclosed in aggregate form only and it will not contain personally identifiable information. SugarCRM may use such aggregate information to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users' movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Disclosure

SugarCRM provides users’ personally identifiable information and the data generated by cookies and the aggregate information to the vendors and service agencies that SugarCRM engages to assist in providing SugarCRM products and Services to users and our partner entities that are not within SugarCRM’s corporate family. For example, SugarCRM provides user’s personally identifiable information to a credit card processing company to process user’s payment or to SugarCRM subcontractors to assist with products and Services. These third party service providers are prohibited from using users’ personally identifiable information for their own marketing purposes. SugarCRM may also disclose users’ personally identifiable information and the data generated by cookies and the aggregate information to parent, subsidiary and affiliate entities within SugarCRM’s corporate family. In addition, SugarCRM may disclose users’ personally identifiable information if SugarCRM reasonably believes we are required to do so by law to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, legal process, or regulation, other government authority and/or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights.

SugarCRM will not sell a user’s personally identifiable information to any company or organization; except that SugarCRM may transfer a user’s personally identifiable information to a successor entity upon a merger, consolidation or other corporate reorganization in which SugarCRM participates or to a purchaser of all or substantially all of SugarCRM's assets to which this Site relates. You will be notified via email or prominent notice on the Site for 30 days of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

The Site provides links to other Web sites or resources over which SugarCRM does not have control ("External Web Site(s)"). Security

SugarCRM employs procedural and technological measures that are reasonably designed to help protect users’ personally identifiable information from loss, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). SugarCRM also uses firewalls, password protection, secure socket layer, and other security measures to help prevent unauthorized access to users’ personally identifiable information.

Updating Your Information

SugarCRM provides user with the ability to review and update user contact information that user provides to SugarCRM by accessing and modifying this information in user’s account or by submitting a request to SugarCRM at webmaster@sugarcrm.com. We will respond to requests for access to update or delete your account information within 30 days.
